Our Services

eHealth Platforms
Medby develops secure, scalable digital health platforms tailored for hospitals, clinics, and telehealth providers across Kenya and East Africa. Our cloud-native solutions use Docker and Kubernetes, leveraging modern frameworks like React for the frontend and Laravel for the backend to ensure smooth deployment and maintainability. We follow Kenya’s national guidelines and global standards—integrating ICD-10 for clinical coding, SHA for patient identification, and HL7 FHIR for health data interoperability. Medby platforms offer customizable modules for EMR, billing, pharmacy, and MOH health reporting, all optimized for low-bandwidth, resource-limited settings. To support rural and underserved areas, we enable offline-first workflows with automatic sync when connectivity returns. Additionally, Medby systems are extendable through APIs, allowing third-party integrations with mobile apps, diagnostics, insurance platforms, and Kenya’s national health registries—empowering digital transformation in healthcare delivery.

Health Data Systems
We provide interoperable solutions for Electronic Medical Records (EMR), health analytics, and national-level reporting. Our systems ensure seamless data exchange between healthcare facilities, government agencies, and third-party applications. This enables better clinical decision-making, improved patient outcomes, and efficient public health management.

mHealth & AI Tools
We integrate mobile health (mHealth) apps and AI-powered diagnostics to expand healthcare access to last-mile populations and enhance clinical workflows across Kenya and East Africa. Our Android-first mHealth solutions, developed using Kotlin and Flutter, include SMS and USSD fallback options to support areas with limited smartphone penetration or internet access. These apps feature lightweight AI models for early disease detection, triage, and clinical decision support, trained on localized health datasets and optimized for offline or on-device AI processing. They sync seamlessly with EMRs through HL7 FHIR APIs and support SHA-compliant patient identification for continuity of care. To protect sensitive health data, all mHealth platforms use AES-256 encryption, OAuth2.0, and role-based access control. Additionally, the systems are modular, allowing rapid adaptation to new health priorities such as maternal care, oncology, or non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

Smart Health Access
Empowering Kenyan health workers with interoperable digital health tools like Jali-EMR, HL7 FHIR, and mobile health (mHealth) platforms to close care gaps in low-resource communities across Kenya and East Africa. These digital health solutions improve care delivery, streamline health data sharing, and strengthen Kenya’s healthcare systems. Together, we are advancing accessible, efficient, and patient-centered healthcare for all.

Telehealth Rollout
We are expanding Jali-EMR with a robust telehealth module that delivers real-time video consultations, SHA-compliant patient identification, and seamless M-PESA billing to rural health clinics across Kenya. The teleconsultation system uses WebRTC for end-to-end encrypted video, embedded directly into the EMR to maintain continuity of care and streamline digital health workflows. During sessions, clinicians can generate electronic prescriptions, lab orders, and referrals—securely transmitted as HL7 FHIR bundles for interoperability with Kenya’s national health systems. The platform also supports offline-first teleconsultation, allowing clinicians to record sessions and queue actions for automatic synchronization when connectivity returns. Integrated appointment scheduling, remote vitals capture, and AI-powered decision support tools further enhance virtual care. The system is optimized for low-bandwidth environments and supports browser-based access on mobile devices—expanding digital healthcare access and strengthening rural health delivery across Kenya.

FHIR for Kenya
Unlocking better healthcare in Kenya by enabling county hospitals, clinics, and Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) to exchange patient data securely using HL7 FHIR standards, enhancing care continuity and clinical decision-making. This digital health interoperability enables faster referrals, integrated care coordination, and accurate Ministry of Health reporting. By connecting systems seamlessly, FHIR Kenya helps build a stronger, data-driven, and patient-centered healthcare ecosystem across the country.
